Our Story

A BLACK-OWNED MARKETPLACE FEATURING BLACK-OWNED BRANDS

It all started out as a "what if?"

In 2018, three friends, Travis, Condola and Danielle wanted to make the task of finding and supporting black-owned businesses a little easier. Similarly to how they could purchase just about anything that they needed on Amazon, they wondered, "what if there was a site that is similar, but also in support of black-owned businesses?". It was then that the trio stopped hoping and started building. A year later, in 2019, &Noire was born in hopes of bridging the gap between consumers and black-owned businesses.

Inclusion: As the e-commerce industry continues to evolve and flourish, we at &Noire want to ensure that black-owned businesses are included and receive their share of the pie. The "&" in our name signifies inclusion. Inclusion of black-owned designers, jewelry makers, authors, hair and body artisans, candle makers, men's grooming, beauty, inventors, lifestyle brand owners and quite frankly any black business with a quality product to sell online.

Connection: Knowing that there is a vast network of eager consumers of all walks of life looking to support black-owed brands, &Noire will act as the bridge that will connect these future customers to these businesses. Particularly in times of crisis and economic turmoil, it is more crucial than ever to shed light on these businesses.

Convenience: Our sleek, easy to use platform is ideal for customers and merchants alike. Consumers can easily sort, scroll and filter for the products they need while merchants can seamlessly upload their top items from their existing marketplace.

Support: Looking beyond the products on our platform, &Noire has a long-term goal of providing consultation support for black start-up businesses. We are striving to continuously provide unique resources, strategies and best practices for our merchants both on and off the platform. Future plans also call for the development of a charitable foundation that will award grants to black youths looking to start their own businesses.
